Explore unique art pieces from lived experiences

I am a passionate Visual Multimedia Art student dedicated to exploring various forms of art. My portfolio explores the emotional journey of academic failure and resilience, reflecting my personal experience of failure and rewriting my matric. Using school shoes as a metaphor, it represents movement, growth, and different stages of learning. Each pair holds a memory, a lesson, and a step toward who I am becoming
I have used a shoe polish as a medium and symbol because it carries the scent and stain of the school years, a reminder of discipline, struggle, and identity. Every stroke of polish became a reflection of my emotional state, from frustration to hope and acceptance that failure is not the end. my work reclaim failure as part of growth, not the end. it is also a reminder that every step, even the worn-out shoes, can lead toward transformation and hope.

I am a third-year Visual Multimedia Art student at the University of South Africa.
